NZB’s 2026 National Online Yearling Sale is now live, with the quality 104-lot catalogue available to view on Gavelhouse Plus. Bidding will open on Friday 10 April and close from 6pm (NZT) on Tuesday 14 April.

National Online Yearling Sale graduate Well Written has earned over $2.6M
In just its sixth year, this digital edition of NZB’s National Yearling Sale has already claimed multiple successes on the racetrack, with just 169 runners claiming an impressive 159 wins on the track, including unbeaten Group One winner, TAB Karaka Millions 3YO and NZB Kiwi winner Well Written (Written Tycoon), plus Listed winner De Armas (NZ) (Ardrossan) and Group Two Eight Carat Classic winner Hitabell (NZ) (Embellish).

A significant benefit of the digital catalogue is that all lots offered in the National Online Yearling Sale are eligible to be nominated for the lucrative Karaka Millions Series. Just nine short months after they make their virtual sale-ring debut, graduates of the online sale can compete for a share in the 2027 $1m TAB Karaka Millions 2YO (1200m), followed by the 2028 $1.5m TAB Karaka Millions 3YO (1600m), as well as the NZB Mega Maiden Bonus Series.

“There have been a number of outstanding prospects come out of this online session, particularly in the past 24 months,” commented NZB Bloodstock Sales Manager Kane Jones.

“Vendors are aiming quality yearlings towards this Sale and horses like the superstar Well Written and the incredibly promising De Armas are a real testament to that.

“The quality of pedigrees assembled for the Sale continues to improve and there is no doubt that there are plenty of opportunities to secure some future stars in this year’s offering.

“The Karaka Millions eligibility is another attractive incentive, with the Mega Maiden Bonus series giving buyers even more opportunity for a great return on investment” he added.

Renowned vendors from across New Zealand are supporting the Sale, with a contingent of 48 proven, emerging, and first-season sires progeny offered. Buyers can secure yearlings by the likes of Ace High, Alabama Express, Per Incanto, Proisir, Satono Aladdin, So You Think and Tassort, plus emerging and first-season sires Ardrossan, Armory, Circus Maximus, Noverre, Profondo and Sword of State to name a few.

Bidding will run for a four-day period, commencing Friday 10 April with the first lot closing on Tuesday 14 April at 6pm (NZT). Buyers must register on Gavelhouse Plus in advance in order to gain bidding approval.

All horses will be inspected by NZB agents who are available to assist buyers with enquiries. Buyers are also welcome to join the on-farm parades commencing Tuesday 7 April, with the schedule to follow.
