Mapperley Stud Announces 2026 Service Fees
Mapperley Stud has added further fire power to their 2026 stallion roster with the acquisition of Champion 3 year-old Savaglee who stands for an introductory fee of $17,500+gst. One of the best credentialed sons of Savabeel to retire to stud, Savaglee joins Armory and Profondo on their roster offering breeders access to three of the most influential sire lines in the world.
“We were absolutely thrilled to secure Savaglee to stand at Mapperley – a sharp group winning 2-year-old who developed into the dominant 3 year-old of his generation winning the Gr.1 2000 Guineas and ultimately being crowned Champion 3 year-old” said Stud Master Simms Davison
“We had a huge amount of respect for what he showed us on the racecourse, and with him being one of the more precocious sons of the legendary Savabeel – we knew he would hold massive commercial appeal to breeders”
“It’s great to partner up with Windsor Park again, we’ve got a great syndicate behind him and we have been overwhelmed with the level of support he has received from breeders since announcing him, he will cover a full book this year”
Savaglee stamped himself as a colt of exceptional ability early winning the Gr.3 Matamata Slipper and went on to be group one performed in his juvenile season. Savaglee went to another level at three completely outclassing his age group rivals going on an unbeaten stretch notching up victories in the Hawkes Bay Guineas, James & Annie Sarten Memorial, Two Thousand Guineas and the Levin Classic.
His performance in the Gr.1 Two Thousand Guineas was one to remember cruising up effortlessly to win by 3 lengths in the 3rd fastest time ever recorded in the 3 year-old classic. To finish his classic season, Savaglee crossed the Tasman where he contested the Gr.1 Australian Guineas finishing a narrow 2nd to Feroce displaying his ability against the very best of his generation.
Savaglee is out of the O’Reilly mare Glee and is a full brother in blood to champion 3 year-old Orchestral as well as being from the same family as Champion 3 year-olds Aegon and Daffodil, and more recently group one winners Atishu and Sepals.
“We want to pride ourselves on offering breeders access to affordable stallions by the world’s best sire lines. Adding Savaglee aligns with that belief and is a perfect complement to our roster this year”

Armory, a champion son of the internationally acclaimed sire Galileo stands at an unchanged fee of $10,000+gst . Armory’s eldest are just two year-olds and they have shown early ability at the racetrack headlined by the debut winner Silhouette and trial standout Orient Sixty who has subsequently been sold to Australian interests.
“We are excited about the next 12 months with Armory as his eldest turn three, being a son of Galileo that’s when we expect them to really hit their straps. He’s shown plenty early on to indicate he’s on the right track with a nice early winner and a bunch of impressive triallists”
The momentum is starting to build with the exciting young sire and this has translated into the sale ring with one of his yearlings topping the New Zealand Bloodstock Summer sale selling for $130,000. At the Ready to Run sale in November, he set a new sale ring record when his 2 year-old colt sold for $625,000 to Busuttin Racing who bought two of his colts at the breeze up sale.
Mapperley Stud partners with Windsor Park Stud to stand Profondo offering breeders access to another world class sire line in Deep Impact. Following tremendous early support from breeders in his first three years at stud, Profondo remains at a fee of $17,500+gst this season.

Profondo, a stunning looking individual who topped the Magic Million Yearling Sale at AUD$1.9 million justified his hefty price tag on the racetrack winning at the elite level at just his 3rd start winning the Gr.1 Spring Champion Stakes in brilliant fashion.
Profondo’s first crop of yearlings sold earlier this year across the Australasian sales where they were greeted with strong demand with his top priced yearling selling for $425,000 to Astute Bloodstock.
“Profondo has been a huge hit with breeders from the get-go, and it was rewarding to see his first crop of yearlings sell so well this year and make their way into Australasia’s top stables. That’s what you want with your young stallions and it gives you plenty of confidence with him going forward”
