Continuous wet weather in the Eastern Bay Of Plenty has led to the postponement of the Te Teko trials, scheduled for Tuesday.
The trials are a key kick-off point for a host of New Zealand’s better gallopers as they prepare for spring racing.
The region has had 71mm of rain since last Friday and, with an unfavourable forecast for the next 48 hours, the decision has been made to postpone the trials until Monday, August 13.
Nominations for the rescheduled Te Teko trials will close on Friday at noon.
The trials at Avondale will remain on Tuesday, August 14.
