Windsor Park Stud’s shuttle stallion Charm Spirit recorded his ninth individual winner from his first crop of European two-year-olds when Chicago May won over 1400m at Naas on Saturday.

The Henry De Bromhead-trained filly won by two and a-half lengths after distancing her rivals at the 200m mark.

“She is a filly we have always liked, but I thought she would need the run as I hadn't done that much with her at home,” De Bromhead said. “I'm delighted with her as she's done it very well in the end.”

Windsor Park Principal Rodney Schick is thrilled with the way Charm Spirit's progeny are performing and is looking forward to his first southern hemisphere crop getting to the track next season.

“We have had a lot of good feedback from the breakers, so there are exciting times in store next season,” he said.

“He sold really well (at the sales this year). He sold up to $400,000 and he’s certainly left some good types. The encouraging thing is they are going to good judges like Guy Mulcaster and Ciaron Maher.”

Charm Spirit will return to Windsor Park Stud this coming breeding season where his service fee will be P.O.A.
