Connections of Resurrect are more hopeful than confident about the five-year-old’s prospects at Ruakaka on Saturday.

The Shinko King gelding will resume in the White Cliffs Timber Handicap (1200m), in which apprentice Tina Comignaghi’s claim will reduce his impost to 58.5kg.

“He’s still got to carry a bit of pudding and first-up he could be a bit vulnerable,” said Pam Gerard, who trains the five-year-old with Michael Moroney.

Comignaghi will also be aboard stablemates Recension (Almanzor at Cambridge Stud 900m) and Avec Moi (Tanalised 1600m).

“Recension will make a nice three-year-old and she’ll be all the better for an overnight trip away while Avec Moi can mix her form, she’s been a bit disappointing but she’s very well,” Gerard said.
