Entries for New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2019 National Yearling Sales Series are now open with the Sale taking place next summer at the Karaka Sales Centre from 27 January until 3 February.
With an established reputation of producing world-class thoroughbreds, graduates of the National Yearling Sales Series have claimed 16 Group One races this season alone. From 1200 metres to 2400 metres, the alumni have exhibited their diverse power to dominate fields in New Zealand, Australia, and Hong Kong.
Their racetrack performances charm trainers, buyers and enthusiasts across the world which sees them return to Karaka each year to source their bloodstock. In 2018, the Sale hosted a new format which provided the key figures over six days of selling to reach a decade high.
The aggregate totalled $97,157,750 and the average increased to $106,183 for 915 lots sold at a clearance rate of 81%. There were 19 yearlings that sold for $500,000 or more with a Savabeel filly (Lot 301) setting the highest price at $1,025,000.
