Well-performed New Zealand mares have been in demand on the Gold Coast this week.

A pair of Go Racing broodmare prospects sold particularly well with Darci Brahma’s multiple stakes-winning daughter No More Tears realising A$550,000 to the bid of the China Horse Club.

“She is a horse that provided many thrills and highlights throughout her career and to be able to sell her for this sort of money, when she was bought for $75,000 puts the icing on the cake for her syndicate owners,” Go Racing’s Albert Bosma said.

Bloodstock agent Paul Moroney went to A$500,000 for the Gr.2 Rich Hill Mile (1600m) winner Ruud Not Too.

“There is always very good money for well-bred fillies and a bit of black type makes these fillies extremely valuable,” Bosma said.

Moroney also secured for A$575,000 the former Team Rogerson-trained dual winner and Gr.2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) placegetter Santuzza.
