New Zealand-bred three-year-old Civil Disobedience has another opportunity for Group One honours when he runs in Saturday’s South Australian Derby (2500m) at Morphettville.

The son of Raise A Flag crossed the Tasman earlier this year and finished a respectable seventh in the Gr.1 New Zealand Derby (2400m) at Ellerslie where he copped a wide run from an outside gate.

Trainer Darren Weir said he would change tactics with Civil Disobedience this weekend following an unplaced run in the Gr.3 Chairman’s Stakes (2035m).

“He was disappointing last start, but we'll take the blinkers off him this time and ride him quieter.”
