2017 mare returns are due by 28 February 2018.
Owners are responsible for registering their mare as a broodmare after she is covered for the first time and for maintaining her registration in the Stud Book until she is retired from breeding or is sold or leased out. Owners must lodge a return every season even if the mare does not produce a live foal or isn’t covered.
You can complete your return:
On-Line via Breeders Service Centre (BSC)
If you have used the BSC in the past your log-in and password is still valid. If you would like to register for this option, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the name of the mare, and we will send you codes to access this secure part of our website. Please note, only credit/debit card payments are accepted online.
Over the Telephone
Call (04) 576-6240 and choose Option 3 to speak to someone from the Stud Book (Monday – Friday from 9.00am until 5pm).
You’ll need to provide the result of the 2016 service (date of birth, colour and gender for a live foal), and the name of the 2017 covering stallion (the stallion owner will confirm service dates). If any mares have died, been retired or sold please let us know so the Stud Book records can be updated.
The following fees apply if registration is completed by 28 February 2018 (after this the late penalty applies):
$75.00 – annual entry fee per mare
$120.00– DNA laboratory fee for the foal.
There is a 10% prompt payment discount for returns completed online or by phone and paid with a credit card before 28 February 2018.
